Weapons training is important to develop your skills as a martial artist. Weapons training is part of our main curriculum, introduced to students once they reach an intermediate level of training.
Escrima: This simple yet effective weapon gives the basics of learning hand-eye coordination, lines of strike, distancing, targets and gives a basic understanding of how to use your body around what is in your hand. Advanced students will train with two at once and learn how to effectively disarm and use this against other weapons.
Bo: The Bo has been a staple of martial arts for generations. Using primarily Japanese Karate styles of training advanced students will learn this weapon. It teaches full body control and full mental control. They will learn partner drills and training sequences to help them understand the weapon as an extension of their body.
Sai: Very few schools offer sai training. We feel the Sai is a great weapon for helping reinforce the fundamentals of open hand training and give advanced concepts of how to strike and block as a means of self-defense. All sai training is done in pairs and students will learn form and partner drills as well as cross weapon defense.
